Both Drs. at the Crocodile Creek Medical Clinic, Joe and Christina have been having a one week a month relationship for the two years. Joe flies in from his home in New Zealand, needing the money the remote clinic offers. Christina's ready for more from their relationship, she hears her biological clock ticking. Yet she knows that Joe's not one for settling down, in fact, his life outside of Crocodile Creek is very much a mystery to her. Joe loves Christina, but his life is filled with obligations and burdens, and he just doesn't have enough of himself to give to Christina too. So when Christina ends their relationship, he can't fight for it which only adds more pain all around.
A read from Ms. Darcy is never disappointing. Her characters always come alive; you can get right into them and feel their joys and sorrows. Joe and Christina deserve much happiness, and I'm glad they figured out how to fight for that. Well done!
