I always enjoy Ms. Pappano's books and this is no exception. She certainly has expert touch in character studies. Ethan and Grace have a lot to over come, not only with each other but within themselves. Abuse comes in many forms and how it affects each child depends upon the individual. Ethan became wild because everyone expected him to and Grace withdrew into herself and tried to become "invisible". Good read, not just fluff. Message for all. Forgiveness would seem to be the key word...they had to forgive themselves, each other and family. Acceptance comes next.
