The Doctor's Pregnant Bride (Silhouette Special Edition) Review

What a wonderful book Ms Crosby has given us in THE BABY CHASE series-this is the 3rd in a 6 book series, different authors for each month's book.
Dr Ted Bonner and nurse Sara Beth O'Connell both work at the Armstrong Fertility Clinic in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Ted's a researcher and Sara Beth is helping with some research now along with her obstetric nursing--she has been avoiding him for some months now as she likes his looks and knows he's a nice guy.
Sarah's mother is retired from the clinic, she was the secretary to the founder Dr Gerald Armstrong. Sara's the product of a sperm donor at the clinic so she and her mother have a very close relationship. Sara Beth has been working at the clinic for several years now either as an unpaid volunteer, an intern and now a nurse. She's also best friend's with Lisa Armstrong, the daughter of Dr Gerald and now the head administrator of the clinic.
Here it is Valentine's Day Sara Beth is lonely and really feels sad not having a father to have a relationship with and Ted is a workaholic who is trying to make himself have a life besides his research. Their friendship leads to a love affair--I love it!!
I enjoyed this book and will have to get the others in the series now that I've been introduced to them.

The Doctor's Pregnant Bride (Silhouette Special Edition) Overview

Having a secret crush on her boss was definitely taboo--especially when tall, dark and hunky Ted Bonner didn't even know Sara Beth O'Connell was alive! And now she'd agreed to be a corporate spy to save the Armstrong Fertility Institute from scandal... which meant working extra closely with the dedicated doctor. From the moment Ted asked Sara Beth to be his date for a Valentine's Day dinner, the head-in-the-clouds scientist was hooked--even if she did seem to be hiding something. But Ted knew he had to fight for the woman he loved...and convince her that she could count on him to be the family man she wanted and needed. --This text refers to the Kindle Edition edition.

The Sheik and the Princess Bride (Desert Rogues, No. 8) Review

Billie Van Horn's and Prince Jefri's story to me is probably the "spunkiest", if that's a word, of Susan Mallery's Desert Rogue series. It was so much fun to read and yet a little sad.
Billie is the only girl in her family of men who travel all over the world training countries and pilots in the art of flying jets. Billie is an ace pilot and has never been beaten by a man. She is fun, beautiful, sexy, and spunky and longs to meet a man who accepts her for just being Billie.
Prince Jefri is the youngest son of the King of Bahania and is in charge of setting up the air force for Bahania, El Bahar and The City of Thieves. He is a Cracker Jack pilot as well, a ladies man and just plain sexy and handsome. However, he has also agreed to accept a wife as arranged by his father. Little does he realize he will be so strongly attracted to Billie and later fall in love with her. However, his "arranged" bride-to-be arrives on the scene only to complicate matters. Enter one huge mess and to add to the mix, Billie's brother and the King interfering in their relationship.
Again, Susan Mallery has written such an enjoyable story....love, lust and passion all in a desert setting.
Back Cover Book Summary
Lovely blonde Billie Van Horn is a gorgeous, take-no-prisoners flight instructor who has been assigned to train a number of pilots in Bahania, including the ultra-masculine Prince Jefri. At first Jefri is miffed at being bested by the beautiful super-pilot, but after he lays his eyes on her, he becomes hopelessly smitten.
The prince invites Billie to stay at his family's palace during the duration of the flight training, an offer she eager accepts. With her dog Muffin and her brother Doyle, Billie settles into the luxurious suite and enjoys her close proximity to Jefri.
But Billie is crestfallen when Jefri's future wife, the young and shy Tahira, arrives on the scene. Before meeting Billie, Jefri asked his father to find a suitable wife...and is dismayed when it seems to be too late to cancel his marriage plans. Billie is well aware that when royal honor calls, her high-born lover will have to fly from her side forever...unless he defies his destiny and chooses love

The Sheik and the Princess Bride (Desert Rogues, No. 8) Overview

YOU'D BETTER GET MOVING, BIG GUY... Prince Jefri of Bahania had just been bested...by a woman! And not just any female, but Billie Van Horn, his gorgeous, take-no-prisoners flight instructor who was more than a match for this ultramasculine male.Well, she might be an ace in the air, but when it came to romance Billie was determined to keep both feet on the ground. So why did the sexy sheik make her feel as if she were soaring high above the clouds? She knew that when royal honor called, her high-born lover would fly from her side forever...unless Jefri defied his destiny and chose love...--This text refers to the Kindle Edition edition.

The Sheik & The Princess in Waiting (Desert Rogues, No. 7) Review

Little does Emma Kennedy realize that she is still married to Prince Reyhan of Bahania and that years ago her parents kept her away from the handsome Prince. So when she is approached by the State Department and asked to travel to Bahania per the request of the King, she's stunned.
Prince Reyhan, he's closed his heart but upon seeing Emma, he longs for what might have been but is determined not to let things get out of hand.
As this story unfolds, they learn that Emma's parents tried to keep them apart. What doesn't help matters is that the King insists that they spend a few weeks together to reacquaint them selves with each other. If matters can't get any worse, Emma's protective parents arrive in Bahania and try to discourage Emma from seeing Reyhan.
Can this couple find their way back to each other? Susan Mallery tells their love story in such a way that it will melt and pull at your heart. This proud Prince will fall to his knees over the beautiful Emma. This is just another wonderful story and addition to Susan's Desert Rogue Series.
Back Cover Book Summary:
Emma Kennedy is working as a nurse in Dallas when two men await her at her apartment one day to inform her that the king of Bahania has requested that she travel to his country. At first she is puzzled, but when she realizes that his son, Prince Reyhan, is behind the reason, she literally faints when she sees him again after six years.
During their college days, the two married in a ceremony in the Caribbean. But had it been a real ceremony? Emma always thought it had been for "pretend", especially when he abruptly left her soon after their honeymoon. But the marriage is real, and the two are still very much husband and wife. Upon discovering this secret, the king orders Reyhan to spend two weeks with his wife before he is willing to grant a royal annulment so that his son can follow through with his wish to have an arranged marriage.
The two have no choice but get reacquainted with each other...and isn't the paradise of Bahania the perfect place to fall in love all over again?

After all, wasn't she the last person on the planet to become a princess--and bring a proud, imperious prince to his senses...let alone his knees?--This text refers to the Kindle Edition edition.

Having Her Boss's Baby (Silhouette Special Edition) Review

HAVING HER BOSS'S BABY does not describe this book at all!
Noelle Stevenson works in Dev Hunter's office and dated his younger brother Jimmy. At Dev's instance Jimmy joined the Army in hopes he would learn some responsibility. He was killed and a few months later Noelle suspects she's pregnant. So her family won't suspect, she takes a test early in the morning in the corporate bathroom and it's confirmed! Dev bumps into her; the test falls to the floor and he learns the news. He blames himself for his brother's death as it was he who insisted Jimmy join the military. For Dev, marrying Noelle is the only solution. He proposes marriage and to help with the baby for two years. After that he'll give her a generous settlement. So off to Vegas for a quick wedding and then home to tell Noelle's family the news.
This couple settles quite well into married life. The truth of how Dev and Jimmy were raised is revealed to Noelle. She learns that Jimmy was spoiled, he was always in trouble, and never took responsibility. It is also revealed when the boys were younger, their mom passed away and their father left, leaving their grandfather to raise them. Dev inherits the responsibility of the business and raising his brother when their grandfather passes. Of course, Dev shoulders the blame and for him love will never enter the picture. Did I say never? Little does Dev realize he's slowly falling under Noelle's spell. Noelle realizes she is deeply in love with Dev. She "hadn't given him her heart lightly".
This couple's journey is a painful one. There is laughter in this book, lots of it, a real sense of family and family dynamics but also a lot of pain. Dev is forced to explore his feelings and in the end confront them. Right before your eyes, Noelle grows from a young girl to a woman, a warm woman giving her heart to her new husband.I cried for Dev and all he had been through but the ending is bittersweet.
This is the first book in Susan Mallery's Positively Pregnant series and is an excellent start and very entertaining as well.

Having Her Boss's Baby (Silhouette Special Edition) Overview

When Noelle Stevenson saw the positive results of her pregnancy test, she didn't know what to do. The baby's father was gone, killed serving his country in Iraq. And nineteen-year-old Noelle was barely making ends meet putting herself through college and working part-time. So when her take-charge boss, Devlin Hunter, offered to marry her--in a purely temporary business arrangement--how could she possibly refuse?

Dev wanted to do the right thing for a woman in need. But he didn't anticipate that his beautiful bride, wed in a marriage of convenience, would stir his hardened heart. This platonic partnership was rapidly headed down the road to romance....

The Tycoon's Marriage Bid (Silhouette Special Edition #1707) Review

While I agree with the previous review that this is not one of Allison Leigh's best stories, I rated it a little higher - I gave it four stars.
One thing is for certain - the world could use a few more good guys like Alex Reed!
Description from the book back cover:
Had she fallen down a rabbit hole? Self-sufficient Nikki Day didn't know what to think when she awoke to find herself in a strange hospital staring at the man who was, unknowingly, responsible for her current "situation". And even though she'd tried - apparently unsuccessfully - to put some distance between herself and her ex-boxx, she and her unborn baby now depended on Alex Reed's care. Besides, any hopes Nikki had of maintaining a professional relationship crumbled when she saw the "honeymoon cottage" he'd rented. And if the heart-shaped whirlpool tub didn't shift her hormones into high gear, Alex's mere touch certainly did. But when the tycoon made his marriage bid, Nikki faced her toughest task yet. Could she turn a proposal born of duty into one of desire?

The M.D. She Had To Marry (Conveniently Yours) (Silhouette 1345) Review

This story was so far the best of the Conveniently Yours series about the Bravo family. For years Lacey Bravo has had a secret love for Dr. Logan Severance, a man who is love with her sister. When Lacey's sister marries another man, she goes to Logan to offer some chocolate cake and a shoulder.......leads to a hot but brief affair. Nine months later Logan goes to Lacey and asks her to marry him. Lacey has taken off to her families cabin where she spends the time sketching, and missing Logan. Even though she loves Logan deeply she says "No I won't marry a man that is love with my sister." When Lacey gives birth, the baby begins to bring Lacey and Logan closer together, unwillingly, but irrevocably closer. A story that is emotional, intense and moving.

The M.D. She Had To Marry (Conveniently Yours) (Silhouette 1345) Overview

MARRY IN CONVENIENCE...

All her adult life Lacey Bravo had loved Logan Severance, but the good doctor--always hell-bent on doing the right thing--had never even made an improper advance toward her. Well, maybe one, about nine months ago. So the about-to-be single mom knew Logan would come after her, demanding marriage. It was just a question of when....

LOVE IN LEISURE?

Logan knew, the minute Lacey answered the door, stomach-first, that she had to marry him. But first things first--there was a baby to be born! There'd be time enough afterward to convince her that what began out of necessity could turn into love. And to convince himself, as well...

The Sheik And The Pregnant Bride (Silhouette Special Edition) Review

Another great Desert Sheik book from Susan Mallery.
Our heroine, Maggie Collins, of Aspen Colorado has been emailing Prince Qadir of El Deharia to get the job of restoring his 1936 Rolls Royce Phantom III. He thought he was hiring her father who had passed away a few months ago but had been negotiating the restoration before he became ill. Qadir has reservations but she does seem capable to do it. He sees her love of her job.
Maggie falls in love with the car and knows what she wants to do to get it back to it's loving best. Maggie is still a tomboy really but she just hasn't gotten friendly with any girls/woman in her life. Her father raised her after her mother's death when Maggie was a baby so she's comfortable in a shop with men around. Her best friend and supposed lover had grown apart while her father was so ill. He has found a new girlfriend but still wants to take care of Maggie and she reaches out just before leaving for her new job.
Qadir has he own fear of falling in love but finds he does like Maggie. His father, King Mukhtar, is putting pressure on him to marry but he finds he just doesn't care for all the women the King parades in front of him. He thinks he and Maggie can create a pretend romance then when she finished the car she can leave and he will pretend to be broken hearted and be off his father's list for a few more months.
Of course all backfires for Qadir and Maggie. This is their story of falling in love. Fun book!

The Sheik And The Pregnant Bride (Silhouette Special Edition) Overview

Maggie Collins had come to the exotic kingdom of El Deharia to restore Prince Qadir's antique car...not to get married. The no-frills mechanic had been burned by love before, and marriage--even to a seductive sheik--didn't top her agenda. But then Qadir made her an offer she should have refused. It was meant to be a temporary engagement...until Maggie discovered she was pregnant. Now Qadir was honor-bound to give Maggie and her child the protection of his name. He never expected her to sweep him off his feet. Would there be a royal wedding after all?--This text refers to the Kindle Edition edition.

Their Unexpected Family (Montana Mavericks) (Silhouette Special Edition, No. 1676) Review

Cute story about a pregnant single mom who (as usual in these stories) finds Mr. Right. My only criticism is the fact that the heroine seems very naive even after her wake-up experience with her child's father. A little on the syrupy side, but satisfying.

Their Unexpected Family (Montana Mavericks) (Silhouette Special Edition, No. 1676) Overview

Well, readers, Juliet Rivera, our favorite waitress at the Hitching Post, has finally followed her doctor's orders and is taking some much-needed time off before her little bundle of joy arrives. And she's got company-word is that reporter Mark Anderson has been keeping a close eye on our gal....

Loyal readers, this prospector can personally vouch for the sparks that have been flying between Juliet and Mark! Yet the sexy native son has been gone a long time-and in spite of doting on Juliet, he doesn't seem too eager to hang around town and face his own troubled past. Will this investigative Romeo put his demons to rest and find love with the beautiful mom-to-be?

Fifty Ways to Say I'm Pregnant (Silhouette Special Edition No. 1615)(Bravo Family Ties) Review

Starr Bravo had been in love with Beau Tisdale since she was sixteen years old, but he had broken her heart in an attempt to save her from more pain. Now she was 21 years old with a college degree and had a promising job lined up in New York City. For the summer, she was staying at her father's ranch, where she couldn't help but run into Beau again. They agreed to have a summer fling, and after Labor Day Starr would go to New York City and Beau would remain as foreman on a local ranch. Starr gets pregnant immediately, though, and thus the problems begin. She can't find the courage to tell him, especially since she knows that he's so dead-set against being a father and a husband, scared that he'll be like his own father.
Beau Tisdale was the only Tisdale to amount to something. His father had been a drunk, one of Beau's older brother had died in prison, and Beau's other brother sat on death row for killing a police officer. Beau himself had been involved in a cattle rustling scheme because of his brothers' influence, but he had served his time at the state's honor farm and had made a decent life for himself. He had always loved Starr, but he knew deep in his heart that he wasn't good enough for her. She deserved to chase her dreams, and he would only tie her down. Still, he could definitely handle a summer fling, even though he knew it would probably break his heart again. Will he admit to loving her, or will he let her leave his life once more?
I really liked this book, especially since there was so much more depth to the story than I expected there to be. Beau was physically and emotionally scarred from being abused as a child. His pain was so real, you could almost feel it as you read the story. Starr was also nursing the hurt that she had suffered from Beau's hand, in his efforts to protect her from himself. This book was really an emotional roller coaster, and the reader was privileged to personally feel it all, from the heights of dizzying love to the depths of a broken heart. Tears came to my eyes a few times, as I watched Starr and Beau try to make sense of their attraction in light of their pasts and their vastly different futures. The love scenes between Starr and Beau were so incredibly hot and sensual. I could barely force myself to put down this book until I had read all of it! This book was an incredible read, and I look forward to reading more from this author.

The Nine-Month Marriage (Conveniently Yours / Bravo Family) (Silhouette Special Edition, No 1148) Review

Abby has always adored Cash since she was a grubby kid. The night of her father's death, their relationship took a dramatic turn that left Cash beating himself up for getting her pregnant. He feels like a craddle-snatcher with the 15-years age gap between 'em. So he made an honest woman out of Abby & a mutual agreement that they'd reconsider their marriage after the baby's born. Abby may be a 21-year-old college gal, but she's one heck of a fighter when it comes to getting what she wants, and she's always wanted Cash. Their marital bliss starts going awry, as she's suspected all along, eversince - in the throes of labor pain - Abby confesses her love. Scared the pants out of him, Cash begins putting distance between him & Abby (emotionally & physically), even though he knows that he's hopelessly in love with his young wife. This book is romantic, heart-twisting at times, written wonderfully with smooth dialogues, believable characters, great chemistry & a very satisfying ending. The title & synopsis of this novel alone will grab your attention & keep your eyes stuck 'till the last word. I've read most of Ms Rimmer titles & she's never disappointed me so far !

The Nine-Month Marriage (Conveniently Yours / Bravo Family) (Silhouette Special Edition, No 1148) Overview

In Abby Heller's hero-worshipping eyes, Cash Bravo could do no wrong. But one urgent April night, Cash made a woman of Abby ... and Abby became pregnant. Cash cursed himself for stealing her innocence and vowed to give their baby his name. Then he'd set sweet Abby free -- to find herself a better mate. After all, when a man loved a woman, heartache was nothing ... but honor was all.--This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

Christie Ridgway does it again! She has created marvelous characters and a terrific story that continues the Wentworth family saga. Her wonderful wit shines through in this tale that will keep you cheering for this charming couple to make their own happy-ever-afters. This one is a keeper!

Millionaire And The Pregnant Pauper (Follow That Baby) (Silhouette Yours Truly) Overview

When the clock struck twelve, instead of partying hard, wealthy playboy Michael Wentworth was making eyes at a beautiful stranger's newborn. Worse, everyone seemed to think he was the proud papa of Beth Masterson's bouncing baby boy. Heck, he'd only just met the woman when she'd come to his door with information on the missing Wentworth heir. Well, to gain his inheritance Michael did need a temporary wife, and the struggling, unwed mom sure could use a man to set up house with--and maybe even a happily ever after. But was marriage-resistant Michael ready to be that man?
